Annette Phillips
Writer, Author, Content Writer, Stay-at-Home Mom, and Sunday School Teacher
Annette gets out of bed each morning thanking God for his love. She knows with Him anything is possible. She has two wonderful children who keep her busy with soccer, basketball, cub scouts, and homeschooling and an incredible church family she could not do without. She gives credit to her parents for bringing her up in church which has giving her a solid faith in Jesus Christ and to her sister and husband who have helped make her the person she is today.
With her strong love for writing she squeezes in time to write each day. She has one published contemporary Christian children's book entitled "Willow's Ride" , a Children's Bible Study Series, and "Candle Making Tricks: How to Make Caked and Grubby Candles Using Basic Kitchen Items". Annette is working on several picture books and a Christian middle grade novel. You can view or follow her blog here. In 2004, she became a Sunday school teacher and enjoys the challenges of teaching four to six year olds about Jesus and the Bible.
Loving nature as God intended encouraged her to begin researching its elements. Natural disasters was the one topic that stuck out in her mind and has become something she loves to share with her readers from disasters caused by the sun, floods, and grasshoppers to the organizations that make disaster recovery possible. Annette is the Natural Disaster Feature Writer for Suite 101.
Her article ARRL Amateur Radio Relay Helps During Times of Natural Disasters received an Editor's Choice Award in February 2011.
A passion for health and wellness has led her into a life of natural medicines. Starting her own herbal business in 1997, Annette continues to educate herself with remedies and medicines from nature while writing about natural ways to care for specific ailments and conditions.
Annette specializes in candle making and cake decorating. Her love of crafts began a career in candle making and painting. When she began homeschooling her daughter, most of her craft making and cake decorating was put on hold. She now writes about her knowledge of the experiences she has encountered.
Annette says, "Without family, God, and writing life certainly would be dull."
